Vol.12

English

One sunny spring afternoon, we were relaxing in the living room and having a snack when my youngest son suddenly started talking about his memories of heaven again.

Son: “Mom! You were a child in heaven, right?”

Me: “Hmm… I’m sorry, but I don’t remember anything about heaven.”

Son: “You don’t remember? You don’t remember Dad being a child either?”

Me: “No, I don’t. Was Dad there too?”

Son: “Of course! You really don’t know?”

Me: “Nope, I really don’t know.”

Son: “Do you want to know more about heaven then?”

Me: “Yes! I’d love to. Will you tell me?”

Son: “Hmm… maybe next time!”

Wait, what?!

You brought it up, and now I have to wait until next time?!

Kids can be so funny and unpredictable.

I thought maybe if I asked him some questions, he might tell me more.

Me: “You told me before that you could see Mom and Dad from heaven. Did someone tell you to come to us, or did you choose us yourself?”

Son: “I chose you myself.”

Me: “Really? There are so many people in the world. Why did you choose Mom and Dad?”

Son: “Because you looked like you were having fun.”

Me: “Aww, really? Were Mom and Dad having fun?”

Son: “Yep! But you have to wait in a really long line.”

Me: “What? I’ve heard something like that before!”

Son: “It’s really, really long!”

Me: “So there’s a long line to choose your parents?”

Son: “Yeah.”

Me: “Can you actually see Mom and Dad when you’re choosing?”

Son: “I can see everything.”

Me: “How?”

Son: “I don’t know how, but it’s made so you can see everything. You can come down here too. And there’s someone like a grandpa who decides when it’s time to come down.”

Wait… what?

You decide when to come down?

Since he was suddenly talking nonstop about heaven, the conversation got pretty long!

So I’ll save the rest for the next post. He started telling me about what he thinks is the “job” or “role” of babies, and it was really interesting.
