One Sunday in early summer, the sunshine felt a little stronger than usual.
After playing soccer at the park with his two older brothers, my youngest son and I were relaxing on the sofa. As always, music was playing softly in our living room.
When Memento Mori by Motoki Ohmori started playing, my 4-year-old son suddenly began talking about his memories of heaven again.
Son: “You know, there is a big room in heaven.”
Me: “A big room?”
Son: “Yeah! It’s a room filled with everyone’s feelings.”
Me: “Everyone’s feelings? What do you mean? Are there books there?”
Son: “No! Not books!”
I was confused. What could he mean by “everyone’s feelings”? It seemed like a difficult idea for a 4-year-old to explain.
Me: “So there are lots of people’s feelings inside the room?”
Son: “Yes!”
Me: “How can you see them?”
Son: “I don’t know, but you can just see them.”
I still couldn’t quite picture it.
Me: “Can you see them anytime you want?”
Son: “Yes, whenever you want.”
Me: “What kind of feelings are there?”
Son: “Things from before.”
(He seemed to mean a previous life.)
Me: “Before coming to heaven?”
Son: “Yes. You can see the feelings from before.”
Me: “There must be so many if they belong to everyone.”
Son: “Yes. It’s kind of like studying.”
Me: “I see. That’s very mysterious.”
Could this be what some people call the Akashic Records?
A place where the feelings and experiences of previous lives can be seen. A place where souls learn, reflect, and prepare for the next life.
Of course, I don’t know if any of this is true. But listening to a 4-year-old describe such things makes me wonder.
If his memories are real, perhaps souls are always learning and growing, even between lives.
少し日差しが強くなってきたなと感じる初夏の日曜日、公園で兄弟3人でサッカーをして帰ってきてから、私と三男でソファーで寛いでいた時のこと。
いつも音楽の流れる自宅のリビングでは、その日も心地良いメロディが流れていました。
そして、大森元貴さんが歌う”メメント・モリ”が流れてきた時に、また何かを思い出したかのように三男が空の記憶を話し始めました。
息子: あのね、お空にはね大きいお部屋があるんだよ。
私: 大きいお部屋？
息子: うん！みんなの気持ちがいっぱい入ってるお部屋なんだよー。
私:みんなの気持ち？？？えーと、それってどうなってるの？本とかがあるの？？？
息子: ちがーう！本じゃないよー！
-あっ、違うんだ…みんなの気持ちってなんだ？4歳の語彙力で語るにはきっと難しいことなんだろうな…中々難しい話がきたぞ…どう質問したら良いんだ…？
私: お部屋の中に色んな人の気持ちがたくさん入ってるの？
息子: うん、そう！
私: えーと…それはどうやって見れるの？
息子: なんか分からないけど、見えるようになってるの！
-う〜ん…イメージが…中々難しい…
私:そっかー。それはいつでも見れるの？
息子：うん、見たい時にいつでも見れるよ。
私: たとえばどんな気持ちが入ってるんだろう？
息子: 前の時のこととか。（恐らく前世と呼ばれる時のこと）
私: それはお空に行く前の時のこと？
息子: うん、前の時の気持ちとかが見れるの。
私: それってすごいいっぱいだよね、みんなのってことでしょ？
息子:うん、そうだよ。それもお勉強みたいな感じだよ。
私: そうなんだねー。なんか不思議だなぁ。
-これって俗に言う、アカシックレコードと呼ばれる場所のことなのでしょうか?
分かる方がいたらぜひ教えていただきたいです。
前の人生の気持ちが見れる場所。そこでは何かを感じ、反省し、次の人生に活かすということなのでしょうか。
4歳が語る空の記憶-これがもし本当なら、魂はより良いものに成長するために常に学び続けているということなのかもしれません。
