From elementary school to high school, my husband devoted himself to soccer.
He went to a private high school on a sports scholarship and lived in a dormitory away from his family. He was selected as a representative player for Iwate Prefecture.
During a selection camp, he met Shinji Kagawa.
He says that meeting him was like encountering a “monster” (like in Blue Lock). He was overwhelmed by Kagawa’s incredible level and realized that there was always someone better. At that moment, he faced reality.
Although he gave up on becoming a professional soccer player, it was not an easy decision.
Part of me wishes I could have seen him playing on the pitch at the National Stadium. But I respect the path he chose, and I will always support him.
After that, he decided to pursue a career in sports medicine.
He wanted to use his passion for sports in a different way.
In 2011, he obtained his acupuncture license and joined Global Sports Medical Institute.
He worked as a trainer for Olympic athletes:
• Judo team for 5 years
• Speed skating team for 4 years
He was dispatched by TV stations, accompanied artists on tour, and even treated artists at their homes.
Major milestones:
• 2012: Served as a staff member at the 2012 London Olympics.
• 2014: Studied fascia therapy in Austin, USA for six months
• Started and managed his own sports trainer business
• Traveled around the world to support athletes at international competitions
(He says he was only in Japan about one-third of each year.)
• 2016: Provided support and treatment for athletes at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
• From 2017 to present: COO at Medical Japan
↪︎ Provided off-ice training for figure skating students at Mao Rink Tachikawa Tachihi
His goal was always clear — to become a top sports trainer.
He worked tirelessly toward that dream. Many trainers who accompany Olympic athletes are rarely in Japan. He had almost no days off and slept only about four hours a night. But he says those days were fulfilling.
After achieving his dream, he later changed his work style.
He feels satisfied because he was able to fully pursue what he truly wanted to do.
Many people struggle to find what they want in life.
I am proud that he found his dream and gave everything to achieve it.
